Best Overture You've Ever Seen
What's the best Overture you've ever seen? And I don't mean just heard.
For me it has to be the Overture in "How To Marry A Millionaire." Absolutely incredible. When you look at that picture it brings into sharp focus the old adage..."they just don't make 'em like that anymore..."

Don't remember that one at all but I do recall, with fondness, "Comedy Tonight," the overture to "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." A great set-up.

This is too easy...
Beethoven Overture to Egmont of course! https://youtu.be/ChcrZX2rZ1M Beethoven - Egmont Overture. During 1809 and 1810, Beethoven composed both the overture and the incidental music to Goethe’s play Egmont, depicting the life of the count of Egmont, a Flemish nobleman who was executed as part of a conspiracy in 1567. John Williams’ movie soundtracks are among the best-loved of all time. Before a single note had been played at the Hollywood legend’s debut concert with the Vienna Philharmonic, Maestro Williams received a standing ovation. Their sensational performance of the “Imperial March” from “Star Wars” underlined the rapport and affection between orchestra and composer. “It was honestly one of the best presentations of that March I’ve ever heard”, Williams reflected afterwards. “They played it as though they owned it.”
