I've had my 28s for about a year now and I am totally one happy camper.
Would like another for my centre just cause, use a 7B-sst now,but I like the front to match. Whether it's very low listening or Roadhousing saturday nights the 28's are clean, dynamic all up and down the dial. |

The 28's i have heard many times for long listening periods over and over.......Big dynamics, great bottom end control, gobs of power with the ability to drive any loudspeaker out there.
My only question to you Joe is if your actually looking for a different sound? The reason why i am asking is,because if your used to the Mac sound and like it......the Bryston sound signature is very very different from Mcintosh.Personally i feel the 2 brands could not be more different and after having many diff Bryston amps/preamps in my life........when i finally sat down and listened to Mcintosh i was astonished with what i had been missing........dont get me wrong there is nothing wrong with Bryston amps and i enjoyed their sound for many years, but wow the Mcintosh "Sound" is in a league of its own in a very very positive way when compared to Bryston.........Switching to the Bryston 28's will totally give your Audio system a very different sonic signature....... |

Thanks Volks, Ivan, and drummermitchell,
I think I'm heading in a similar direction as Alberto. I've had my Stingray for a little more than a week and I love what it does. So, I want more of that. I'm sure the 28B is superb and until I hear one, in my heart, I think it will be too close to neutral for my taste. I know my speakers were voiced with tubes (Audio Research specifically) and I need find a solid state amp that mimics the best of tubes. I'm sure with warmer speakers the Brystons are dynamite. Bottom line, I need to hear them. I bought my Spectrons without a demo and failed to return them in time, big mistake. |

Why not check out one of Manley's tube preamps with a good SS amp?
