I just sold my 803d3s and have 802d3s on order-- should be delivered Thanksgiving week. I am excited to hear the difference

I finally got them set up and my reference was my former 803d3. They are wonderful. They are more full with a wider / more realistic sound stage than the 803s, but the 803s were great in their own respect (I got them originally when I lived in a smaller apartment and they barely fit lol). Really great speakers though really glad I did the upgrade. My dad got jealous of my new speakers so he got a set in the prestige and told me to sell his original Nautilus 802s, his sentiments are the same--love love love

I just ordered a pair of 802.

What do y’all think of using a rotel 1585 (200w x 5) to bi amp these speakers, putting around 400w per speaker?

Thanks

Do you already have the amp? Or are you looking to buy the amp?

I’d be assuming MrRaceCarDriver is being polite with that query ;-)

Personally I’ve never had a ‘good’ ROTEL experience...they tend to cut corners in their designs and found their Amplifiers to be too lean with a bit of ‘grain’ for musical applications. I’ve had a few ROTEL combinations over the past two decades and sorry I’d been seduced by the price and looks of their casework...

If I was on a budget after buying a pair of these, the NAD M33 has the new Eigentakt 200W by Bruno Putzeys in them; coupled with DIRAC you can adjust the sonics to your taste

If you have money to burn; I’m certain these fine Gentlemen will advise you of more exotic combinations soon

Happy Christmas with whatever you do...lovely Speakers, my dream pair in a larger home
