By the way, I do have one of these DeWalt drills - with a power cord.
It is the only one I've been able to depend on to have sufficient power to do a job at my mountain house where I only use the drill infrequently and the batteries are always dead in a DeWalt or Makita cordless.

For just drilling, I vote DeWalt or Bosch -- 18 volt if you actually need that much power, but the smaller 12 or 14.4 volt models are lighter and smaller and in most cases, should handle the average person's needs.
With that said -- once I added a Bosch impact driver, it made putting in screws, lagbolts and other fasteners plus and tightening/loosening bolts sooooooo much easier and faster than with a drill plus its built-in worklight is very convenient. It is much smaller and lighter than an equivalent cordless drill. MikeSp
