Man that's an easy one, don't go overboard and change ALL the power cords in your system and if possible ALL of the same make, Amplifier & Cd player in a dedicated Hubble recptacle and the power conditioner in another dedicated Hubble receptacle with the two interfaces pluged in the power conditioner ( power bar )
PS: Rather than one $1,000.00 Power Cord better have 4 of $250.00. 1 = Grant Fidelity RPF-120 Power Conditioner ( used as power bar ) 2 = Grant Fidelity PC-1.5 Power Cords ( 4 ) Amp - Cd - Interfaces - Last edited by MrAcoustat; 05-24-2012 at 01:51 PM. |

Same here. Biggest improvement was on my integrated amp, when I replaced the stock cord with a Shunyata Venom3 (now on my A/V receiver) and then a Nordost Brahma, connected straight to the wall.

For me it depended on the specific gear in question more than the class(amp, pre, etc...).

High End Power Cord(s)..amp or source?
Quote:
The next upgrade was the same AC chord for the Rotel CD player I was running. It is easier to carry and play CDs to the hifi saloons to consider borrowing stuff to try at hone. From there I was able to find a power conditioner system that continued the improvements for my front end. Then I upgraded the power amp AC chord and found a conditioner system for the amp that continued improving performance. I always try to get big bang for the buck and have found very satisfying pairings with my different gear. I've made decisions on what I want to spend for stuff, just like everyone here has. After going to local high performance exhibitions and events which is always fun, I find myself enjoying what I've hand assembled at home. |
