111F's In The House
Well my 111f's arrived while I was at the Dentist the afternoon. It took me about 2 hours to move them around to the lower level, tear down and move the 111e's out of the 2-channel room, open up the 2 boxes and 1 wooden crate that holds the F's, and set them up in their starting position. It would have been a little easier if I would have had some help but it all went very smooth.
I did not install either set of spikes yet. One set goes between the bass units and the floor and the other smaller set between the bass unit and the Tweeter/mid unit. I usually wait 'till I am pretty sure I will not have to move the units again before I spike the bass units. Also, I will wait a couple of days before I re-run the Room Perfect set-up. The first thing I noticed while unpacking the units, MBL has improved the quality of their Piano Black finish on the 111 series speakers. They no longer need to take a back seat to anyone else's units. Initial impressions, there is more bass and it is better articulated. (Eeven without being spiked) So far, very good all around. Pics to follow shortly. Jim |

Enjoy your new speakers Jim. I am not up to speed with MBL speakers and have no idea what the difference is between the two pairs but I am looking forward to your impressions.

The changes between the E's and F's are along the lines of the changes between the WP-8 and Sasha's. More evolutionary than revolutionary, but a significant improvement. New crossovers, new bass drivers, and an updated design. Jim |
