I want one, such a cool product. Everyone can argue you can do this for less, but the Olive is packaged pretty darn well.

Yep, I went ahead and entered.

What's amusing is I can't find mention of giving away an Olive in the T's & C's.

Olive has been on top of the server game for years.
At $1,499 (and available in black) noone should be without the convenience of a server.
At $1,499 I'm thinking of buying and trying the Olive as an alternative to my macbook/appletv.
$1499! Hell, thats the cost of a new 1.5 meter Wireworld Platinum Starlight HDMI cable!

I'm thinking spending a few hundy more and get the 2TB version...the question is do you have to get the HD version to output 24/192 files even if you use an outboard DAC and bypass the unit's DAC?? If no then getting the base Olive with 2TB hard drive i think is the way to go using it's digital out to the DAC of your choice.

I'm ready to move on from the McBook and ATV to a dedicated Music Server.
Now I'm a Mcfan and I've considered the MS300 and 750, but Olive's website is pretty convincing. It looks like this product's got the MS's topped by a considerable margin
Am I overlooking anything?

I have been tossing the Olive around in my head along with the Music Vault Diamond, but the having the Olive's smaller footprint might be an advantage.

Would you use Olive's digitizing service?

Comes down to time.....average CD download is 3 to 5 minutes. May be worth it to send them your Top 100 CD's. Then you can do the rest at your leisure.
