No - it is designed to be used with the BDP-2 as the software is what allows it to connect and operate. The idea is that the BDP-2 is used to store the files in 'memory' and that is what you are listening too - you are listening to the buffered signal not directly from the drive itself. james |

James
Are you able to provide a status update on the BOT-1 progress. I just received my new BDA-2 and am wanting to determine a path forward that may include the BDP-2 but am waiting for the BOT-1 to make a final decision. Also considering upgrading my transport but would strongly consider the BOT-1 through the BDP-2 to play CDs as an alternative. Also has it been decided if the BOT-1 will be slot load or not. The prototype indicated a tray load but you indicated a slot load may be used. My preference would be the the tray load as I have owned both types of transports and preferred the tray. Heck my real favorite is top load but am sure that was never considered. Thanks |

We are looking at building a prototype in the next few weeks and will make a decision. We are going with slot load if we do as it will operate off a USB input whereas tray load needs an esata connection. james |

Hi Folks,
Chris put together an update on the Bryston BOT-1 Drive which is attached to the BDP-2 and allows for CD playback. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAim...ature=youtu.be It is 6 minutes long. james Last edited by James Tanner - Bryston; 09-23-2014 at 11:44 AM. |

Is this unit suppose to allow you to rip redbook CDs directly into the BDP-1 or 2?
