I have a C2700 in HT pass thru mode with a Yamaha 5100 processor. The Yamaha does 2CH music too but I could not match the C2700 at all. Issue I had was even using an external DAC into the Yamaha I would get distortion and interference. Even in pure direct mode. Problem solved with the C2700. Remember if you go with the C2700 you might find yourself listening to more 2Ch music because it will sound so much better.

Thanks! I’m thinking my current plan is to just order the mx100 and do the c2700 sometime next year or so. Also the mx100 is much cheaper than the c2700. We watch/listen in the living room, so getting the benefit every day sounds more appealing. |

Thanks! You’re probably right about listening to more 2 channel if it sounded better. I just posted above l, but the c2700 is about 60-70% more investment than the mx100. Once I started looking elsewhere, the anthem started sounding worse and worse Lots of people on here are pasting about Brytson so I’m going down that rabbit hole vs the mx100 now. |

Bi amp 802d3
What are you all using for amplification on the 802d3? I am bi amping with 2x200watts. It’s from a 5 channel amp, so I have the 5th channel for the center. Would it be better to have a bi amped 400 watts to the speaker (top 200w and bottom 200w) OR 350 watts to the speaker from one channel? Using a Rotel rmb1585 (200wx5). This amp is powering: - 1 channel htm2d3 center (200watts) - 2 channels to each 802d3 (2x200watts bi amped) Considering getting a stereo amp but am unsure how much better it will sound? I am using McIntosh 611’s with my 802d3’s. I previously was bi amping using a Classe 5300. I think a good 2 channel amp (or monos) would trump a 5 channel amp for 2 channel listening.

Thanks! Space doesn’t really allow for 2 mono amps, so I was thinking a good stereo amp. So…what do you all think of the Michi S5 (2x500w) vs the McIntosh mc452 (2x450w)? - The Michi is a good bit less expensive, and has 50w/channel more power. - The mc452 has a “quad balanced” design which is supppsed to help with quick l fluctuations in power requirements. Any input, thoughts, commentary, or advice would be really helpful! |

Are you buying used? The 452 has been replaced by the 462. The 462 has improved headroom. I have not heard the Michi, but I think you would be happy with the 452 or 462.
