Not the worst I’ve been through but still pretty sucky. Rapid test was negative but next day PCR said otherwise. So did the symptoms. I’m triple vaxed and taking Luvox and it still sucks so I can only imagine how bad if I wasn’t. I am thankful I wasn’t in the same place a year ago.

My adult daughter works at a grocery store and probably brought it home (she had the earliest symptoms- for her, like a bad cold) and my wife, thank goodness is asymptomatic. For me, like being smacked with the flu.

Thanks, and you too, Ivan. Stay healthy and safe. The headache really sucks, I can taste some but not smell … but I can still hear pretty good so I am getting some nice listening time in just as my new dac (Holo May KTE) and tubes (Golden Lion) in my integrated are just starting to get broken in.

Daughter just called and she is positive. Feels lousy, but hopefully is Omicron and not Delta.
From what we've been hearing it is likely we will all have Omicron at some point.

Same to all. My last test (negative) was a week and a half ago. Now, with the shortage of tests and the demand for them, I'm having trouble finding one. We'll see what happens.

Pump up those immune systems in the meantime.

Interesting experience. I spent a week in Texas at my sister's, where I interacted with my nephew and his family, my last time being last Monday (12/27). This past Saturday evening, on a conference call with him and my niece, I learned that he got COVID (Omicron) earlier in the week. He thinks he got it at a friend's house on Tuesday (12/28). I was feeling unusually tired Saturday evening, and yesterday woke up with what felt like a cold or possibly an allergy: stuffy nose, mild headache, voice compromised, a little bit of chest congestion, light-headedness; but because of the timing and the circumstances I couldn't rule out COVID.

I'd been trying to get an appointment for a test at my usual spot (Northwell Health) for the last 4 days with no success. Yesterday, a spot opened up for Tuesday AM; I took it. My job's (NYC Transit) medical department does tests as well, and I alerted management at work of the situation. I went to the nearest medical facility this AM, and took the PCR test. It's the regular one so it goes to the lab with the results in 2 to 3 days. I phoned my manager, and we agreed I shouldn't come to work until I get a (negative) result. Good thing I didn't cancel the Northwell appointment, which is for the PCR rapid test; I'll get that result in 15–20 minutes. A wild conclusion to the beginning of the year, and the result is an unexpected two days off. More, if either of the tests is positive.
