A public response to a question on the 300b-v's operating voltages. The 300bs are run at 340VDC -70VDC bias volts. Each 300b is drawing approximately 70mA of plate current. The 6SL7s are being run at 250 VDC.

The 300 PSE is amazing in the way it can affect me emotionally. I’m very happy with the way it can mentally transport me through space & time. If the PSE Vagas can sound as nice as I anticipate it looking, it should be a real winner. Not too long ago I decided to listen to tubes types that I haven’t explored before with my older Had, the 6V6 & 6F6. Popped in the 6V6 tubes for an hour or so just to make sure they “worked” thinking these are going to be interesting when they get more time on them. So then the 6F6 tubes were up to bat. Before I was favoring some RFT el34 valves over a number of 6l6 tubes that had been rolled in. After about a week the 6F6’s were really starting to change my mind. But the other little tube “cuties” were begging their turn. Needless to say, they are surprising me with how big a tube the size of a 6SN7 can sound. Cool beans!! My wife even fires it up by herself now & that wasn’t happening before. She wants an amp to glow like the regulator tubes on the 300 PSE.

After a quiet week, some questions from a repeat Inspire customer. Any more updates concerning the Inspire 3.1s speakers? Have any been veneered? How about sensitivity? How low will it dig with those small woofettes? And what is the word on the development of the GK6er PSE “Vagas” or is that still in the proof of concept stage? Finally, does Mr. Had selll any amps that utilize the 2a3 tube? PPS, I play an amp with a WE396a & one with Wathen 5670w tubes. In the past I have used “normal” JAN 5670 tubes that are much less costly but sound to match the bargain price. Does anyone have an opinion about the WE396a vs. the Wathen 5670w? Thanks in advance.

I'm going to try a Placette RVC with the 300B-v. It's a passive remote volume control with a 125 step attenuator, uses only Vishay resistors. I think it's pretty good, sounded great in previous systems. Hoping for similar results with the 300B-v.

Hello. I contacted Dennis via eBay. I have a vpi prime signature tt, ortofon cadenza bronze cart , Zesto andros deluxe 2 phonostage , decware Tori jr amp , don sachs linestage , and spatial audio x5 speakers. He feels that the 300bv is an ideal match. Trying to decide between his amp vs Toolshed or Aric audio. I do like my decware but am intrigued by 300b amps. Anyone out there with the don sachs or spatial speakers ?
