Default Vintage Yamaha

Here a few pics of my Yamaha CR2040 that does duty in our Home Gym. 125 W/RMS a side, and a great sounding unit. This one has been refurbished, updated, and veneered in English walnut by my friend Rob.
Regards,
Jim

That brings me back to the days of my Pioneer receiver.

Rob does very nice work. One of my college roommates had a CR-2040--very beefy receiver!

I used to own a complete Yamaha combo, ebony veneer matched (unfortunately not so for the front panel of the cassette deck, which comes in black - while all the rest are silver), the YP-D10 TT with the Beryllium cantiliver Cartridge, CR3020 Receiver, TC1000 Cassette Deck and the NS1000 speakers - with their stands too. Cost me a princely S$7750 for the whole lot. Looking back, the speaker cables are the red/black lamp cords.

Looking back, its such a shame to sell it off for another system which did not lasted either. Talking about being fickle minded!

Put that beauty in a place where no one will lay anything on top it. A real beauty.

I love the look of the vintage Yamaha gear. I still have a Yamaha R2000 receiver that works. Currently it is doing duty at my sisters house (on loan of course). It looks like new and has never had a repair.

That vintage Yamaha gear is real nice looking. I had lots of Yamaha gear years ago.

I almost purchased a Yamaha Receiver a couple of months ago that needed a little tender loving care, but decided not to do it because I didn't have time to work on it.

Enjoy it.

It has performed flawlessly in that environment and is the heart of my Vintage Rig.

Jim...that's a great looking receiver I owned 2 of the intergrated amps, my fav was the CA810?. I also used their cassette decks and tt for years. Good stuff and love that sound Classic indeed.
