Default High Praise for Bryston

A few weeks ago after receiving my MR88 turner, my Bryston BDA-1 wasn’t putting out any sound. I posted on the Bryston forum asking for help. James Tanner of Bryston quickly connected me with the right people and my unit was shipped prepaid back to Bryston Canada to be checked out. I had several emails keeping me in the loop as to the progress and when the unit would be sent back. The last email indicated that after two days of testing there was no trouble found. I promptly received the unit back in a new box. I was very eager to get the BDA cabled back in so I could play Christmas holiday music. Once everything was connected, I pressed play on the BDP-1 and no sound. Hummm, what was wrong? After pulling the cabinet out from the wall which is no easy task with two McIntosh 601 amps in it, I found that I had a cabling issue and it wasn’t the BDA at all. What had happened was, I had noticed that the BDA powered up and the power indicated went from red to off. I thought this indicated a problem since I was sure it was supposed to be green like the BDP. Wrong! If I hadn’t got tunnel vision on the LED going out, I would have found the issue with my cabling. The whole reason for posting this is not to tell everyone how bad my troubleshooting is but to commend James Tanner and his staff at Bryston for their expedience in getting my unit tested and shipped back to me. You can be sure with Bryston that if you ever need help, you will be well taken care of.

~Mike

Mike.......I give you credit for being a stand up kind of guy. The average bear would have just let an incident like this slide under the carpet, hopefully never to be discussed. Admitting the issue was operator error rather than a manufacturing issue is a commendable move, and I respect you for the honest disclosure. I wish more people were willing to stand up and accept responsibility for their own actions. The world would be a much better place. Way to go.

It is also good to note that Bryston jumped right in to help you, and wasted no time getting the BDA-1 checked out and returned. Bryston definitely does what they say they will do if a customer has a problem. This creates confidence and owner satisfaction. Way to go Bryston. This is exactly how great reputations are built and maintained.

That's the kind of service and honesty we need. Kudos to Bryston for trying to find the problem and Mike for full disclosure. This kind of service only makes me want Bryston even more. Way to go James Tanner and Bryston.

Bryston is a great great company for sure.
I'm thinking now about their B100 integrated for my second system.
Will call my dealer next week.

Glad to hear everything's working now Mike. In a world of crappy customer service, it's nice to hear of companies that do what needs to be done to satisfy the customer.
