Default My Snakes

Playing with my power cord layout as I'm setting things up again. Once I have things finalized I'll be using some sort of cable isolators or making some sort of a bridge.

Don, it's very satisfying to see the snakes coming out of the conditioner on to the components. I actually thought about taking a pic myself of the same setting the system up in "the start".

Don,

Do you find that supporting the Hydra on brass cones has made a significant difference? I tried Herbie's Tenderfeet and BDR cones under mine and didn't like what they did to transients, they kind of softened up. Unfortunately, mine is in a rack and I don't have much room to elevate them.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Joe,
to be perfectly honest I don't have an honest answer. It has been so long since I broke everything down to refinish my room, 4-5 weeks or so, I don't recall what the before sounded like and hadn't even considered that the sound would have changed much. The cones are Adona's Multi-Element cones (the lower portion is machined from solid brass while the upper portion is machined from Kevlar-filled composite) and I placed them under the Hydra without a second thought. From my memory the system sounds much as it did before but with a but more focus but keep in mind the Adona Audio rack was added at the same time and offers much better isolation than my previous Salamander Flex rack. Maybe this weekend I'll put the stock feet back on and see if I hear any difference.

Thanks, Don. I was just curious since I'd read that the Hydra responds well to isolation.
