I have owned the basic Hydra 4, the Hydra 8 version II, auditioned the Talos and now own the Triton. Neither the Talos nor the Triton limit current so you would undoubtedly hear a significant improvement over running your entire system straight to the wall and over one line. However, it would be helpful to know what equipment you own. Broadly speaking, it's best to get your amplification and front end on separate 20 amp lines if it's feasible. From a financial point of view, it makes sense to get a good power cord and run your amps directly to the wall on one line and then run your front end through a Talos on a separate line. If finances allow, you can always add a Cyclops to your amps later. If, on the other hand, you only have one power line to work with, running everything through a Talos is significantly better than running everything through a couple of duplexes that feed the same line. If you're concerned about surge protection, you can have a whole house surge protector installed at your panel for less than $300 for the whole package. Going to a Shunyata power conditioner, even the basic Hydra 4, was one of the best things I've ever done for the overall sound of my music. Hope this helps. Vance Vance |

Thank you for responding Vance. I cannot have new circuit pulled because the basement if fninshed and it would be too costly do get it done plus we have having construction in the house. I took a plunge and got the Talos... its on the way. I use all Shunyata Black Mamba CX and HX for my monos for power cords and for the Talos I went with Anaconda CX. Hope this combo will be an improvement and give me some piece of mind. My system is all analogue (TT, battery phono, Calypso and Cary 500 monos into Maggies 3.6). So I will be able to plug everything into the conditioner.

My experience with power cables & power conditioners is that as a system the benefits are cumulative. Everything on a circuit feeds off each other. For example, a premium power connect will boost the performance of a lessor one on the same circuit.. Equipment hooked to a Talos will sound even better if there is a Cyclops on the circuit as well, which is akin to running the two conditioners in parallel. Power oscillates.

So last night my conditioner arrived. Great success as Borat would say. Everything plugged into it sounds much much better than into the wall. Not sure how to describe the sound other to say and everything is dead quiet now and I mean super quite and I am grinning from ear to ear. Well worth the upgrade... well not an upgrade since there was nothing there before but you know what I mean lol

Grats Tomek, I use the Talos with my active surroundspeakers and projector. I put my Furutech Flux 7 gauge on it. It performs very well.
When adding it to another circuit it also seemed to improve my Triton used for front active speakers and electronics. Sometimes I theorize about how it would perform with a Anaconda CX which I use on my Triton with very good results. And the fun has just started, a few weeks from now your system will be settled in and the performance will be even better. |

I'm getting ready to sell a 15amp Anaconda CX if anyone's interested. :-)
