Happy B'Day Chopin
Happy 211th. He may be buried in Paris, but his heart will always be in Poland.
My favorite composer for the piano.

Unaware of his birthday, I spent most the day listing to his works.

Happy birthday Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin!!
(Don't ask me to pronounce it!) (I once started learning Polish, but it was too difficult for me).

My parents would speak it at the dinner table when they did not want us kids to know what it was they were talking about.

Ed, your parents were of Polish descent? I love the language. It sounds really beautiful.

A bit of 'Chopin trivia'............ every composition he wrote had a piano in it.

Very shy man from what the history tells us. He typically preferred to play in the dark with the candles extinguished if there was company. He only gave but a few dozen public concerts. He also would not ask his students for money directly, they would leave money on the mantle while he turned away.
Dead at 39, his heart remains preserved to this day which is a bit bizarre but happened quite a bit throughout history, various people and organs. |
