I think that Ian approved of what he was hearing with the 501's driving the PMC's to some serious sound levels.

PMC's own Ian Verdugo

The sound is incredible, very detailed, very musical, tight bass, I am really impressed.

When I took the BIG Mc speakers out of my room I thought that I would be crying... the PMC's are making me smile...

Look a little different???

A HUGE thanks to Ian for personally delivering my new speakers and helping with set up.

I am really grateful to him and for everyone on this forum that pointed in the way of the incredible PMC speaker line up.

Thank you all.

Now... to sub or not to sub...
Put the sub idea on hold for a while........... your LP/CD collection looks a little weak. I would suggest adding to you music library for now and simply enjoy your new speakers. You can always add a sub(s) later if you want.

UNREAL power handling capabilities for a monitor. I would be very very nervous to subject my Cremona Auditors to 1000 watt peaks. I back off when Im peaking anywhere near 400 watts on my 402. then again, they are only rated to 250 watts. Never seen my power guard flicker, yet

I bet those PMC's sound incredible in your room. I would love to demo PMC's someday, never heard them myself. To sub or not to sub, it really isnt a question of if but rather when. ZYour system will sound much better for it. it always does. Minis plus sub(s) are hard to beat. best of both worlds IMO.

great Lps btw, Mayer, SRV S2S, Ella etc.....

Enjoy!

I think you can be confident your OB1i's can take everything your amps can deliver.

PMC's research and development dollars don't go into trying to make cabinets look like a shiny violin, the development centers on making professional quality loudspeakers that are natural sounding, and can take real world use and abuse in stride.
Great choice TD.

When I demo'ed the EB1i's. Mike Sastra hooked up the 1.2Kw and we pushed the needles to the FAR right side. The EB1i's

Personal experience: 1) OB1i and above sound wonderful w/o sub. 2) OB1i w/o sub better value than TB2i w/sub.

Hi Ian,

I know exactly what you mean

Not that I needed it, hopefully PMC makes bass drivers that are on the PB-1i for the OB-1/OB-1i owners.

Ok...I need it! I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice-cream.

Ian,
What is the power handling for the OB's?

Typically I listen between 3.5 and 35 watts on the MC352 meters, but once and a while a good tune requires more volume.
