Smile Ortofon 2M Mono Cartridge On The Way

Just ordered an Ortofon 2M Mono cartridge, Should be here in two weeks give or take a few days. Thanks to Jeff @ A/V Solutions. This will be going on my Denon DP-61F turntable. I have an extra headshell so I can switch from my 2M Black to the the 2M Mono whenever I want to spin some mono pressings. I realized I have acquired quite a few mono pressings over the years so I figure now was as a good a time as any to try listening to them with a mono cart. Will update when I receive the cart!

Jeff.......I will be watching for your comments on mono record playback with the Ortofon 2M mono cartridge. It will be interesting to discover the difference in sound compared to mono records played using a stereo cartridge. This will be fun.

Dan... I am really looking forward to this. I have been told/read that listening to mono recordings with a mono cartridge is quite a bit different in a positive way.

Hey Guys... I received my Ortofon 2M Mono Cartridge on Friday from Jeff @A/V Solutions. I mounted the cart on my Denon DP-61F turntable. I have played about 10 mono albums so far. If you have mono recordings I cannot recommend enough to buy a mono cart!!! I will add pictures and a better review later!

Congrats! There are also mono phono stages available, eg Tron. Would love to hear my miyajima zero mono cart with that mono phono stage

That sounds interesting and I can't wait to learn some more.

Have you tried the SPU mono version ?

Interesting, can you elaborate on the differences between using the 2M black vs this cart on your mono records? My mono collection increases regularly so this may be something I look into.
