According to Pass the X600.8s will run almost twice as warm as the 260s…. So there will be a difference, however I don’t think - at least I’m hoping - they won’t run me out of the room. The electric bill will go up app $10 per month as well.
I'd be concerned as well. A pair consuming 1200 watts of juice is like running a hair dryer all the time they're turned on. Any way you can give them a test spin first?

Yes, I get to listen for two weeks before I make a final decision.

I don't think you can go wrong with that deal Joe.

BTW, do you have the new Blue Note release of Kenny Burrell's "Midnight Blue"? That record would make awesome test material for those big Pass amps.

Thanks, no I don’t have that record. I’ll have to wait a couple of weeks before I purchase it. I’d feel bad discussing it right now - my wife just purchased me app 20 new ones today.

Understood. But, if you like jazz from that era, Midnight Blue is, IMHO, a must have LP. It'll put an enormous smile on your face!

Anyone hear of Westminster REI mono amps. I’ve been reading about them today. They are full Class A amps - that don’t heat up the room.

I didn’t know if anyone here has experienced them. I’m getting in a set for evaluation.

Well............. there ain't no such thing as a free lunch. Yamaha used a 'similar' bias design back in the '80s in their beautiful amps like the MX-2000, etc. I found them far too bright for my tastes. Will be interested in reading your thoughts after you've had them for a few weeks.

Interesting. Definitely don’t want bright!

Many thanks.

If powered on 24/7, that would be about 30kWh/day. With what we pay for electricity in Oz, that would be about $AUD9/day!
