p.s. I will never part with my 3500's. Ivan, I'm telling you they are they best amps I have ever heard, maybe the best that's ever been made. I spoke to my buddy at Mac about this. If I had your money I'd buy 20 and keep them 20 years in mint condition.

Charles… I have no doubt about that. I currently own over a dozen different brands, and have heard hundreds more.

My all time favorite is Accuphase Class A Monoblocks.

You know this is what I don't get and the so called outrage over this dealer sign that can also be bought by anyone.

The original has been collectable for many years, there was only around 700 made back then. Today they are around the price in your post, because they are rare and cost twice as much as the new LB200.

I'm sure most of these first LB200 went to dealers for advertisement and for merch in some cases and perks. If someone walks in and is buying $40,000 in gear and say I really like the lite would you throw it in for free. Hell yeah they would, to have that sale and make a customer happy.

So while some people poo poo the price and says it's not worth it, it is free to some as a perk. And the less people want it today at the price point the more it will be rare in the future because of less sales.

So this is what I see, at this price point I don't see them flying off the shelf, so they will be rare at some point.

All this reminds me of back in 2015 when MFSL priced the One Step at $99 for Santana Abraxas. People were screaming from the rooftops, how can they charge that much for a record? This is the end of MFSL, they will never sell all 2500 copies of that at that price, I'll wait and get the blow out sale price of $40.

In hindsight, they sold out in about a week or so, and the price instantly went up on the secondary market. Today you'll need around $2,500-$3,000 to get a sealed copy. It didn't end MFSL, it actually boosted sales on subsequent One Steps and all other titles they sell. The ones outraged today over this are the ones kicking themselves for not getting one when they had the chance at $99.00

I think most of it is envy and anytime some can kick a big brand like McIntosh they will.
