Default REAVON UHD Player

Does anyone have experience with the Reavon UBR-X200 4K Ultra HD Universal Disc Player? I'm led to believe a few of the OPPO team have developed this player, making it very, very similar to the OPPO players.

Anyone looked into Reavon or heard anything about them? I'm keen to learn more as they appear to be the new high end UHD player and a good upgrade from my OPPO.

I'm not so sure about that. Check out the comparison of the inside:

There's a review of both Reavon's in this month's Sound and Vision.

Seems like there are a few bugs to iron out, some of which have been addressed with firmware updates. However, being a new comer I might wait for the Gen 2 player (unless Mc change their minds and release one).

The X100 doesn't look too impressive. I mean, that power supply looks like it was put
together in a couple of weekends.

Considering the Reavon X200 it I’ll wait till they fix all the issues on the first generation.

There's a new universal player offered by the same US seller of Reavon:
The US seller behind the Reavon universal disc player have a new offering from a company called "MAGNETAR AUDIO."

The new player is called the UDP800 and looks like it might be more stereo-audio oriented than the Reavon.
The internal photos of the player show a slightly larger circuit board, shielding of the power supply and disc loader, as well as additional capacitors from a quick glance. The players use different TI DAC chips, too.

It's listed on the Zapati website which also sells Reavon players. Here's a link to their site and the Euro Magnetar site.

According to a post on AVS forum, there will be an upgraded UDP900 in the future.
