Ella Fitzgerald - At The Opera House
via Qobuz

I find that often, in her live recordings, Ella tends to shout a little.
In her more quiet moments, she's utterly brilliant though.

Elena Maque, "Feel Again" with Scott Kinsey, Hadrien Feraud, Gary Novak & Leonardo Amuedo. Classified as 'smooth-jazz', which I usually avoid. But this album is well done with some excellent instrumental work, etc. Especially like their take on the Beatles, "And I Love Her". Nothing like (ugh) WeenieG's smooth jazz.

The Cookers, "Look Out!". Again, good instrumental work.

Solid interplay!

Very agreeable!

Recorded Jan 31, '57.

Anita O'Day – vocals
Oscar Peterson – piano
Herb Ellis – guitar
Ray Brown – double bass
John Poole – drums
Milt Holland – drums

Tonight, we'll have a cozy evening with female jazz vocalists.
While Anita isn't an Ella, Sarah or Billie, she has an agreeable voice, and a very good sense of rhythm.
