Active vs. Passive line conditioners?
Does anyone have any opinions as to whether or not an active conditioner/isolation component such as PS Audio's PP or Bryston's BIT offers much better performance than passive types such as a Shunyata or Ayre L-5xe? I've read opinions of both, but I have read several reviews which weren't too thrilled about how active products can negatively affect dynamics and may seem to constrain the music's flow vs. a passive device such as Ayre's which doesn't do anything to alter the current flow. What's been your experience?
