What a shock, and very sad news. As a long time reader of Stereophile the first item I start reading was his column. He had an open mind for special audio, not the most commercial part of the scene. Condolences to his loved ones.

Oh man!

This is terrible news. Art was one the great reviewers and a really nice guy, too.

Very said to hear this.

This is a shock. I just finished reading his column in the May issue yesterday. Art’s column was one of the highlights of each Stereophile issue for me. His writing was always thoughtful, erudite, insightful, and informative. I also admired his knowledge of and taste in music, and frequently checked out his musical references - just in this last column I discovered two excellent artists new to me. I will really miss him. R.I.P. Art.

I really enjoyed Art’s column and the perspective he brought to Stereophile. You assume things will keep going as they have been and then you realize how transient life on this planet truly is.
