Yes...... Cornwall IV, Cheviot/Turnbury (a stretch to Kensington?) and 0/93 are 'in the mix'. Maybe Canton 8K, but they can't hug the front wall like the others.

merkinman - did you have the opportunity to audition any other Tannoy models?
I haven't, but have been curious myself. The Cheviots are great though and it appears you get the bigger driver for your money with Legacy series. Much of the costs of the GR series are attributed to the cabinet.

One of the biggest problems in our 'sport' (hunting down the 'right' gear) these days is actually being able to audition something that "reads good". With the lack of B&M stores I'm finding it difficult to find the Cornwall IV or any Tannoy to listen to. With their size, speaker shopping is considerably more difficult than most all the rest of our gear.

Yes. While both were excellent (or better), in the demo room and with the system they were in, I preferred the 0/93 to 0/96.

Any particular reason why you didn't purchase the Devores? Still evaluating?

Still looking for a pair of the new Klipsch Cornwall IV to listen to. Not sure what is going on with the local ( if one can call 150mi local) Klipsch resellers but none have the IVs on their floor and none will commit to doing so. Would also like to listen to Tannoys of some ilk. Chevoit or Kensington. No hurry. Think this will be my last pair of speakers, so want to get it right.

Might want to call WORLDWIDE STEREO here in Bucks County, PA. They have 2 locations. When I bought my FORTE 3's they had the Cornwall 3 on the floor. Im sure they have the IV available now. They have full lines of Klipsch, JBL, Focal, Dynaudio and some Revel's....probably others I cant think of. Multiple auditioning rooms and Home theatre rooms.

Will i be happy from Legacy Cheviot or Arden over second hand Kensington SE ??
This is a question :-)

Beauty and colorfulness of midrange will not be there, right?? Closer to GRf sound..?

Any experience...? I think some of you understand what i mean... this sound which is better than real :-) you know... Kensington :-)

Thank you for your suggestions and ideas

Karel

I owned a pair of Devore 0/96, set up in two different rooms with a Leben CS600. I did not like them at all. I found the bass to have huge peaks and the tweeter beamed. They very very hard to place and the sweet spot was narrow.

Honestly, the sound was very 'vintage', overly warm, loose and 'tubby'.
