First the Squeezebox line now Harmony remotes...hmmm...maybe for the better. The Harmony remote I owned was a nightmare to set up and use. The buttons didn't want to work half the time and after about a year it became a paperweight.

My Harmony is awesome and I have used it with great success for many years.

I like my Harmony One, but I HATE the lag that occurs after each button press. For instance, I hit the volume up button and maybe 300 milliseconds or so later the volume is increased. Do you guys experience this too? A guy I work with experiences the same thing...

I have a Harmony One and experience no lag time unless it is programmed to give sequential time for the components in a system to work together. If you are having problems with this issue, I would give Harmony support a call. They have helped me before when I have had issues with my ONE which I use in my home theater system. Just a warning though that you might be charged if your Harmony is not new. I cannot remember how long after buying one of their remotes that one gets free tech support.

I had originally purchased an 880 but due to the charging dock design flaw, they replaced it 3 times until I convinced them to just send me a One, which they did. I have no issues with the one.
In the beginning, I was controlling an old Sony VHS machine set to record the same time each weekday so it would have to turn off Time Record and then turn on VHS and then reverse when done. It had issues with the Timer Record toggle and when I asked them about it, they logged into my account and just fixed it to work on their end, which was great support. Oh and they never wanted any of the remotes back, including the first One that came with the bad bulging battery issue. |

-- Mmm... I love my Harmony remotes.
* You can program/adjust the volume buttons to do exactly what you want them to do; up & down, and with the perfect sync. ____________ If you don't take the time to 'custom' it to your own preferences (like anything else in life), then you might end up not totally satisfied. And on the other hand, if you do take the time, you'll most probably end up very happy; just like me. |

-- ...I now bet that a great company will take over to acquire Harmony.
...Or that Harmony will control themselves, with their own finances and people and company. |
