Default My thoughts on top SS amplification

I am sorry,

I wrote something here. But this is a very sensitive matters to high end business.
So let's me edit and shorten it.

Inflation is so strong in high end audio industries. A very good sounding products become less attractive to me
because of the US MSRP they set.
For now, based on 'my own' ears and financial capability. I think Pass Labs product provides really great value
( except XS Series ).
I have tried many, I just found that Pass's products are very capable at reachable prices, that's the reason I
raised this name. nothing more.

Toga, did you ever have the opportunity to audition Analog Domain Audio amps ? (German brand).
Would love to hear feedback from someone who has experience with a lot of high end amplifiers.

Well, no. I believe that AudioBeat published the review online about this amp before.

but for me

1. I think there is no local dealer for this brand here.
2. I really have no desire to spend that much for an audio system..

I agree with you, the price of high end gear is getting ridiculous. TAS just referred to a $25,000 Soulution preamp as a "little gem". WTF?

Yeh, I'll just go right out and buy two at that price!

Seriously, if you want to get a terrific SS amp at truly reasonable prices, look into Belles.

To be fair, at 25 large it does cost the same as a little gem

+1. I'm with you, TOGA & Puma Cat.

I don't have unlimited resources but I still want to enjoy a satisfying music system, so I do need to figure out how to get the most bang for my buck.

For example, for my "preamp" I found something as close as possible to a wire with gain in an autoformer passive unit which I think works as well as a whistle. I talk about it here. It was under $3000 and it can take its place along side any high-end equipment I'm aware of. Its performance is superb and I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

Toga

I like you can not or will not buy the 6 digit price gear.

Pass is not gear I have ever heard I know it has a good name. I have gone with Ayre MXR and KXR 20s for the same reasons you like Pass in that to me Ayre seemed like the best sound I could get for the dollars spent of the gear I could get to hear.

Have you listened to the Ayre 20s KXR and MXR and do you like the Pass better. which I have not heard a Pass product just like your thoughts or anyone else who have heard them both. I know full well their is better than Ayre but is their better at or at a lower price than Ayre. To me it is a hobby not a goal to the absolute best but if their is a better deal why not.

Thanks for any thoughts you may have

Pass lab is a brand I would have really liked to try and I agree it does seem to offer a lot for the money. It is indeed too bad to see price proliferation by some manufacturer in this passion of ours. While I am no good example of this, I still believe there are several setup possible with affordable gear. It is all about synergies.

I still have great memories of my full YBA system some 20 years ago! Now why did I change it again!

I know you refer to SS gear in your thread, but one of the best amp for the price I eard was the Woo Audio 300B headphone amp! Coupled with Audeze headphone, it gave me the an experience close to what I have with my main system!
