Default Tube amp for the JBL 4365 speakers

Hello, guys!

Could you be so kind to recommend tube amp for my JBL 4365 loudspeakers?
I'm searching for a colourful sound with a non-tight bass for a music like this

I'm not the best person to ask here, but to get things started, the 4365 is rated nominal impedance: 8 ohms and Sensitivity: 93dB (2.83V/1m), should not be to limiting? I have and enjoy both, a VTA ST70 and a mc275. Maybe you can start there. The VTA ST70 can take several different tube combos and you can get one with a switch to go between pentode and triode for different sounds. I have tried el34, 6550 (my favorite) and KT88 tubes and two different rectifier tubes as well. The sound is addicting, holographic and fun. Some of those 70's effects on recordings jump out and around you! Good luck on your search.

To capture the full dynamics of the speakers, I would choose from old school the MC7300, if you like tubes, a pair of 275's for 200 watts, two 2301's for 300 + watts. For classic sound a pair of 3500's. But to be practical I would look for a pre-owned MC352, great sound and with effort reasonable pricing. I always want a dynamic range potential of 110 db. So from 93 to 116 db takes 200 watts. From 1 meter listening to 3 meters with 2 speakers equals appox 110 db, a perfect match. Now most folks don't listen at these levels, but instantaneous peaks of over 10 db are possible and having that potential head room is very important.

Hallo!

One or even 2xMC275 is soft for JBL4365. I am getting one Crown MA 5000i to drive mine 4365. I am just setting the limiters to 300Watts(RMS).

But of course you want tubes, then the MC2301 is the right choice.

My speakers are 95 db at 1 meter and the most power I ever have used is 100 peak watts , most the time its 2 watts. And having just heard 275's on one of those esoteric brands I was really amazed how nice they sound on speakers that are on the dry side and need a little warmth, but not to much. If I have built one Dyna kit I have built 100. I did it to earn extra monies while going to school. I always preferred the 60 watt mono MK III. They had a very engaging sound though colored. The 70 watt unit could be acceptable, but I wouldn't spend a dime of my money on one. I'd rather have a Fisher or Sherwood piece. Fishers were just a step up, and Sherwoods always just had a delicate nice sound back when.
