So my 802N are now the best they will ever sound before I blow them up with my 28B's.

Thank you!

The S5's I heard 6 ot 7 years ago were really great above 1000 HZ or so. But there were issues in the 300 HZ to 1000 HZ range my better half caught first her having been a lower Clarinet playeer at in her early life. We changed amps and when we finally settled on a MC 275 MK IV she was happy. And I had to agree and Euphonium and bassoon sound really more life like, too. I have only heard A5 once and with the advanced tweeter I really didn't hear anything that different. The bass was not to my liking and I didn't feel like spending the day moving the speakers around wither. Changing to a MC 2301 helped a bunch, even though I am not a 2301 fan. Want to hear the new MC 2152. Probably would be a better match. But its just a guess.

Both are great but i prefer the a5. But as always, i want to
Listen to other speakers before deciding. the ff speakers
Also pique my interest

-yg vantage
-audio solutions virtuoso
-tad e1tx
-tad me1
-graham ls5/5
Proac k6/8

The reason being i want a definite upgrade from my
Present pmc mb2se which is a monster of a speaker.

Have you read the Stereophile review on the A5? Lots of detail on the bass and overall sound.

So far I’m reading good reviews of the new B&W D4 series.

Price is way up, but worth a listen to compare. 802 or 801 would a good to compare with A5/S5 series.

Yes. B&w is also a good option, but there are no stocks
Yet, or at least a review that might give us an idea of
The improvement sound wise vs the d3.

I did demo’ed the d3 before deciding on the pmc mb2se.
It was really good/fantastic with a mcintosh mono block.
With my own vitus? It was average.

Either way, I’m leaning towards A5. I like the idea of sealed box and they sound incredible mids and highs. Room wise, A5 seems like it plays nicely. Build quality is spot on.
