How do you like the 611's as compared to the 462's, and perhaps more importantly, how are you liking the 611's overall?

I just replaced my Pass X250.8 with a MC462.

Actually, replaced a XP22 and X250.8 with the MC462 and C2700.

Only a week or so in now, and I still feel the Pass Combo was excellent. That said, the 462 and C2700 in my system, using the DAC2... Just fantastic.

Sorry Vintage Pete for not responding sooner. I guess I do not get notified when there is a new posting. I absolutely love the 611's. I do not know how to quantify the difference from the 462. Even the wife notice there was a difference and she is not into the hobby like I am. They really get with it while listening to Art Pepper.

I just picked up a 462 last weekend. It replaces my MA5300 which is now only acting as a preamp. It really made a difference with my 802D3s that I purchased last month. Next on the list is the C2700 after my wallet has a chance to catch up.

Volfan, I'm a few generations behind you on the 802s, but the MC462 C2700 combination has been very enjoyable for me. I think you are going to very, very happy.

@fbgbill, hello all Mc’s.
I am listening to the mc462 on demo from stereo shop in my home now with my C 2700 preamp. What can I expect the MC 611‘s to do for my Focal Kanta no. 3 speakers compared to the 462’s?
My room is fairly large rectangle, 16x37x7.
Focal Kanta 3’s amplifier recommendation is 50 to 400 W.
I cannot demo the 611 because they’re not Available, So I would be buying it without hearing it. Past post I’m readings claim a little better and mono blocks are better than a 2 channel amp. So what I am gathering is the bigger more expensive amps give you better soundstage and dynamics and obviously more power. How much power is enough, or is it more power mean louder better cleaner sound?

So far, I am enjoying the McIntosh MC462. Can’t even imagine getting much better than what I’m hearing now compared to what I’ve been using.

I would have no idea how the 611's would behave with your Focal Kanta 3's. I was not able to demo either my 462 or the 611's. I am in a small town a couple of hours from any Mc dealer. I just read enough to decide to make the switch. I am not disappointed. They really do make a difference in my system I feel. Even my wife said so and she could care less about my hobby. As far as explaining what I hear different, I am not good at that sort of thing, kind of like explaining why one wine is better than another. As you can tell, my whole system is Mc and it is my feeling that Mc builds products that are designed to work together well and I for one think they do. FWIW.
