I attended 2 extraordinary concerts this season so far, given by hugely talented young pianists:

Daniil Trifonov, 30 year old, classical
Tigran Hamasyan, 34 year old, jazz/new age

Do not miss the opportunity too see them perform live in your area!

Have tickets to see Christian McBride in June at the Jazz Alley in Seattle. Really looking forward to that.

That should be great [emoji106]

I should see him in November in Zurich, performing with Joshua Redman, Brad Mehldau and Brian Blade, also looking forward!

Joel, I see he’s in Zurich and Basel next week, I just sent his schedule to my cousins in country (Winterthur and Romanshorn).

Yes I wanted to go on those dates, unfortunately had earlier commitments, your cousins should definitely go if they can [emoji106]
Winterthur and Lake of Konstanz are wonderful [emoji1237][emoji1237][emoji1237]

Just awesome experience and glad to be attending great live music again.

We saw Willie Nelson a couple nights ago - feel fortunate to have seen such a legend. It blows me away to think he can still come on the stage like that at 91 - strong singing and playing.

Willie Nelson is iconic.

We will be watching some octogenarians on stage fairly soon - the Rolling Stones Hackney Diamonds tour.

That should be fun - they were my first concert, in Dec. '81, with Iggy Pop and Santana opening. We thought it was expensive at $15/ticket for floor tickets at the Pontiac Silverdome back then. Now, similar tickets are literally 100x that! We did enjoy the Zip Code tour in 2015, where 8th row or so cost $400 each - worth it just to take our son to see those old guys.

We saw Nickel Creek this weekend at the Louisville Palace, which is a great concert venue. That is where Allison Kraus' live album was recorded. Chris Thile is an amazing virtuoso on the mandolin and a great overall performer. A really enjoyable concert.
