s_dly2 and 4x ...... This setting comes across as rich and detailed without any trace of any harshness. Notes on stringed instruments sound natural and more dimensional . Bass is tight with good extension.

s_dly1 and 2x ...this is what i was previously using. This is more "Digital" sounding. It is VERY detailed , but sounds a little dry and bland....

Overall so far the K03 is very impressive, the soundstage is huge with very good 3D imaging . Detail within the music is a huge leap from my Sony SCD777ES...

I put one on my system and by gollies - you have an altogether different player. Esoteric made the K series awesome by putting the 10MHz input feature on their players - yet reading these forums, it seems that so few people have actually unlocked the enormous potential of their Esoteric players. For me the search for high end digital playback sound reached the 'pot of gold at the end of the rainbow' when I added the Rb clock. I cannot recommend the Rb clock enough.

I thought you couldn't use an external clock with the USB input, which is a severe limitation in the non-x player.

yes that is true. I could get the upgrade I suppose, but I really only listen to discs. I have several thousand CDs that I could never be bothered to rip. The X upgrade is not a priority.
