-----Excellent; that was also exactly what I thought.

Yup. I must admit that this is an audio-only system.

Well, I am in the process to use all 3 - but for TriField only.

First step - HD621 - Done and using. Wonderful gear, help separate the video from the audio. Video and movies never sounded so good before this.

Next step? Well, the 861v6 and the DSP7.2k HC. Waiting patiently for the chance.

I was so bummed when Meridian bought Sooloos.
If I wasn't already into it, I never would have bought into Sooloos with Meridian owning it.
M is a second tier want to be high end player that puts out mediocre, poorly built, overpriced components. Listen to their stuff, it's mid-fi at best. Even the styling is so-so. They are like living in the 1980's. Who ever voices their stuff(Bob Stuart?) can't hear. They think they are superior to and know more than everyone, especially Americans. And the other guy, Boothroyd, hasn't had a great design in 25 years. Actually, has he ever designed anything great? They despise their customers with a total lack of information and communication.
IMO, they make great stuff for theaters, nothing more.......

G997 are we talking about the same brand here?

I've owned the G68J Surround Controller since 2005. This year 2012 I used the 'trade up to reference' programme to get the full value of my G68J. I ordered 861v6 with a Sooloos ID40 endpoint card + MC200 server and the sound is just marvellous. And for the build quality and layout of the 861v6 I would say it is top notch. The OS and layout program is tried and tested.

If you're concerned about midfi why don't you move up from MS600 to 800 Reference Series with the 818 and free MD600 RAID storage box, how is that for 'overpriced'?! It could very well be the Goto best streamer transport right now..

Well I have loved all the 5 series stuff I have owned or heard. Still have a 551 + 504 and recently picked up a 506.18. Really lovely musical stuff. Meridian is hideously expensive. I must say the new stuff leaves me all abit cold.

I said I feel Meridian products are mid-fi, not the Sooloos stuff
Also, I use the MS600 as a digital out so I can relocate my C10 in a more convenient spot. So I really don't listen to any Meridian....
Ever look inside a MS600? If you haven't, don't. You'll feel totally ripped off.

Sorry if I wasn't clear

new to meridian... got curious about trifield so dipped my toe in slowly. added a processor (568.2mm) and 518, not to mention another amp channel and center speaker (neither are meridian). very impressed so far - coming from strictly 2 channel. the configuration options in the processor are fantastic.

very pleased with meridian so far.

I´m very pleased with Meridian. I have 861v6, HD621, 800 and Sooloos MC200. I love all of them. For stereo and home theater, I haven´t heard anything better. Highly recommended in all aspects...
