Kev,
I agree. Matt and I can only guess why those powerful amps were made. We'll never know what Shindo san ( MHRIP ) had in his mind when he designed them. My experience shows that they can play side by side with very powerful other amps, and while driving speakers loving power or supposed to love high power or current, and they still win by knock out ! I agree that they could be more magical with easier speakers. A pair of SB may be in my future. We never know. But I have to sell the Wilsons first.

Does anyone have any more information or viewpoints on the shindos latour vs a2e cinema hommage comparison? Preferred speaker driven by Shindo 300b ltd amps?
Room size? |

Guessing there is one guy in US who has had both in the same room. I considered the Cinema before going for the 604. It seems that the Cinema may be very flexible for various rooms given the potential for adjustments to the fc power source.

Why the 604 over the Latour? |

i like the 604. It's a classic. The Shindo version is a classic. And, most importantly, a number of the pictures of set ups that I've seen with the speaker looks very similar to my own room.

Oops. Wrong forum. Sorry John. But John makes great speakers. I wish he would do an ultimate one as well. Last edited by Freestone; 03-18-2014 at 01:23 PM. |
