BIA is a 16/44.1 digital master, no analog recording made.

Very true, but the original Ludwig mastered vinyl is still a great sounding record.

Brother IN Arms and everything after is digitally recorded.

Although Latest Trick is one of the best sounding songs on my turntable no matter how it was recorded.

I'm waiting for that too. Plus I wanna know if the download card is for Hi-Res or Mp3 versions.

Got the boxed set for Christmas. Did a comparison of Love over Gold from the boxed set with another Love over Gold that was coincidentally another completely unrelated xmas present. (Received a lot of vinyl for xmas). That one was a Warner Bros 180 Gram "Audiophile Quality Vinyl plated and pressed by Pallas-Germany & mastered by Bernie Grundman from the original analogue tapes" Well sir, the sound was absolute garbage compared to the boxed set record. Reduced dynamic range, a huge loss of transparency and shrunken depth & width.. just horrible! There was absolutely no comparison to the boxed set copy which was as good or even better than I ever remembered it. I hope the rest in the box are up to that high standard.

Stereohead, the download card is for mp3 unfortunately. It'd be good to have it in hir-res but they don't offer it as far as I know.

Thanks for the info AudioGremlin, much appreciate it. It is sad, but heck I guess it still is a good buy for the fans.

Your Latest trick: Always my favorite song on Brothers. Good call AM123. AudioGremlin- Great to hear the LOG pressing from the Box beat your 180gr Warner Pressing. Now you need a clean/quiet First Press to compare. (-: Never a dull moment in the land of vinyl...!

I have all the original LP's (USA Pressings) excluding "On Every Street", all the original CD's and a few of the remasters. The best copy of "Brothers In Arms" I have heard is the XRCD version from Japan. It really is something special. It was the most I ever spend on a single CD but well worth the hefty price.
