I'm planning to use it in between mdf shelves with existing isolation under the equipment, not worried about it. It will replace the steel threaded rods.

For the OP:

This outfit https://www.shopjfi.com/ will cut threaded rod to whatever dimension you wish. You can call-in your order and pick up when convenient. They will also have the washers, nuts & most anything else in the form of metal you might want to assemble a DIY rack. I took mine to a local machine-shop and had one end drilled & tapped for spikes.

These folks will have about any wood you want. https://www.willardbrothers.net/

And, most any granite counter-top place will have sink cut-outs that they have to pay to get rid of for sale at cheap prices. Think I paid a total of <$100 for the 9 granite shelves I have for my rack. They will generally cut-to-size for little $$ as they don't want the expense of getting rid of the small pieces.

Pretty sure I purchased spikes at Parts Express: https://www.parts-express.com/

I also built my own rack using 8020 aluminum extrusion for the vertical pieces

+1 on 80/20. I used their 1515 black anodized extrusions to make a custom height Salamander Synergy rack for my power amps and center speaker. I bought the appropriate size tap to thread the center holes to fit all the standard Salamander hardware. Worked like a charm.

Hi Glenn,

I'm down the shore often. Where did purchase the granite shelves? I'd like to try one to see if I like. Thanks

Am sure there are a few near you, as well. Just google 'granite countertops' and see what pops up.

Had mine cut to 21" square for the TT and 21" x 17" deep for the other gear. Even if they don't have sink cutouts they will have odd-lot pieces left from countertops. Will be using 1/8" rubber between the granite and the wood it sits on. Don't recall if I purchased from Grainger or off of that auction website. Roll 2" wide x 50' long. Still deciding if my rack will be double or triple width.
