Read really good things about it. $1100 or thereabouts.

Thanks for the reco Stephen. Dipping into the personal audio space has been an interesting journey. There are so many boutique products out there and a very opinionated and passionate group of people singing the praises of them until the second d the next big thing shows up.

Yes, 9-15V. Very convenient.

I have, at least for now, decided I don’t need another piece of pro audio gear. The RME ADI-2 is a Swiss Army knife of all-in-one DAC / HPA devices that use S/D converters. Wow. Really versatile and well designed.

But when you strip it down to it’s essentials I don’t really need the parametric eq (JRiver does that in spades) and since getting my Yggy I just don’t use any of my D/S converters anymore. So I have a concern that as good as the AKM converters are, they may not be to my liking.

I’ll be looking at a Multibit DAC and probably a separate HPA.

I may get an RME ADI-2 one for my mobile setup anyway, though. Space is at a real premium. Never say never.

So I’m back to Schiit multi-bit because I like the YggY.

And priority 1 is to get a really good HPA since mine died and I am using the MCD 1100 HPA which I thought was pretty good initially but on extended listening is flat and lifeless.

There is no end to the different products and various paths to nirvana. Schiit's DACs are proven to be highly satisfying.

I went through the GumbY and YggY and if it wasn't for the excellent Luxman SACD/DAC that I use in my main system, I'd still be listening to YggY.

On my desktop, the Audeze Deckard DAC/AMP (with preamp outs to drive my WOO tubes), is keeping me more than happy with either class A for discovering/browsing/casual listening or when I get serious, I fire up the tubes in the WOO and have a deep listening session that can last hours in an almost trans like state. Single ended triodes can do that....

In any case, have fun with it Tom.
