David, while I would agree that it would be easier to get proper bass in your room with Strad or SE, Amati should work too. Would be fun to play with any of them with you.

My dealer has a dedicated room with Martin Logan L/C/R.
Very good sound!

But all the suggestions above are also excellent.
I heard the Amati Futura when they were launched at the Antwerp dealer, and then a whole afternoon on a second occasion, with excellent Italian wines by the way, and I find it a marvelous speaker, sound and construction.
Me too, I doubt that the bass would overpower your room. When properly set up, this speaker can fit almost every room I think.

David.......What speakers are you thinking about the most for the home theater? New or pre-owned?

I was thinking about a lightly pre owned pair of the Wilson Sofia's with a watch 2 center channel for the theater (Since I would not have to look at them in the dark). The B&W 802D is another consideration for the home theater as well as a newer pair of Magnepan 3.7 speakers as they sound sound absolutely huge in the theater room. A pair of Sonus Faber Auditor's augmented by my pair of JL audio F112 subs. with a cremona center channel is another consideration and would be under my speaker budget leaving me some money to upgrade my projector now. I did hear the Elipsa's in Serge's home theater and they sounded absolutely fantastic. If I put my Elipsa's in the home theater which I might do then I am not sure what to do in the 2 channel room ?
My "master plan" is to trade my Elipsa up for a pair of Strads in the 2 channel room some day however finding someone to buy my Elipsa's at the same time that minty Strads become available is easier said then done. The Elipsa SE looks fantastic too, I have never seen or heard them in person but would seem to be a more of lateral move from where I am now . The Elipsa's sound excellent where they are right now and I have no complaints or remorse about the way they sound; I am hesitant to move them since Bill set them up perfectly for my room Having Strads in one room and Elipsa's in the room next to it might take away some of the uniqueness and seem a little redundant from a aesthetic stand point ?
