Default Pass Labs XP-12 or XP-20

I am currently contemplating the rebuild of one of my systems. This is going to be a scaled down version of my family room system.

In terms of a preamp, am I better off going with an XP-12 or an older XP-20? I imagine the 2 chassis unit would still come out on top, but how close is it?

At this point, I am leaning towards an X150.8 amplifier.

While a second XP-22 would be nice, I’m trying to limit the overall expenditure for this system.

Why not get an Int-250 or maybe even an Int-60?

I have been told by Mark that the separates will outperform the integrateds.

They should if the differences are apparent in your system, but you said 'scaled down.' Just a suggestion. These are two pretty darned good integrateds.

Separates will give you better sound stage and imaging, but the Pass Int 250 is great and would save you significant space.

IMO between the two XP-20 would be the way I'd go.

I love the XP-22 - a definite step up from the XP-12.

I wonder if the INT-60 could properly drive Dynaudio bookshelf speakers with an 86dB sensitivity.
