Default BalancedForce Subs

I am looking at the new BalancedForce subs to go with my CLXes. I have never been able to get my JL f113 to match up with these speakers. I thought about a second f113 with electronic crossover, but this was too complicated and I never wanted to risk this investment and have it not work. I am currently using a single ML Depth in my fairly large room. It's ok, but not great.

So I am thinking that a pair of the new BalancedForce subs may do the trick. Has anyone heard these yet and are there any thoughts? Do I do a pair of 212s or would two 210s do the trick?

It sounds good and appears to be the same technology used by Paradigm (vibration canceling design) in their SUB1 using six 8" drivers and SUB2 using six 10" drivers in the same type of radially symmetrical, six sided enclosure.

I would think a SUB1 or a pair of them would do VERY well with your CLX's. Overkill is also nice, and a Pair of SUB2's would be fantastic.

I use 2 Paradigm Sub1's with my CLX and I am very satisfied with their performance and timbre match to the CLX. If they are Paradigm clones, you should be happy with the result.

Yesterdays news ! ……. seriously though, far more flexibility with the new
'Balanced Force' units…..custom slope / filter software, etc.

I agree. The new models have some great features, including the optional Perfect Bass Kit, but unfortunately higher retail prices too (especially vs. the now-discounted Depth and Descent i's).

I'm contemplating a pair of BalancedForce 210's to dial-in with my Summits, but am waiting to see how reviews and street pricing pan out.

Agreed that they won't have the newer technology, however is that required?

The descent I has a pretty built clx X - over which mates perfectly with the speakers.

Also as pointed out, financially it would be much more favourable.

I chatted with a very nice sales rep at MartinLogan today. I asked his opinion on the 210s versus 212s. He said that if my focus is music, then two 210s would probably be the way to go. The 210s should be faster and do better keeping up with the CLXes. I would be giving up the deepest bass but I would think I would get better balance and tighter mid bass.

Sounds like two 210s might be the way to go....
