I was looking at much larger speakers but I currently run duel subs (high passed) and I think I am going to stick with that method after auditioning larger speakers and being disappointed with the base compared to my current setup. |

According to a post by Philip O Hanlon on WBF, it's a limited edition B1 "decade" with various improvements and priced at $28k. It will be interesting to hear reports on the sound.
Only the new magnetically attached grill trickles down to the standard B1. |

When I had the B1 the grills would occasionally follow damaging the driver. That was the main reason for my upgrade to the G3.

:It's funny you mention that as i've never had that issue with my B1's and I frequently remove and install them. When i listen, i would take them off and back on when i'm done to protect from tiny hands and fingers

Only 200 pairs will be made. The price is almost double that of the current B1's!
At least the protective grilles will be available for current models Vivid Audio celebrates 10th anniversary announcing OVAL B1 DECADE, the B1d (limited edition) | Philip O'Hanlon's Higher Note |

Not really of interest to current B1 owners.
The fuller tweeter and midrange covers look like they would impact on sound quality. This reminds me a little of the B&W signature products. Good for the brands profile i guess, and we all wish them well so i'm not complaining. The smaller Giya would be a logical upgrade point for a B1 owner. Mind you, i don't feel the need to upgrade my B1, which for me was a " last speaker you will ever need to buy" purchase. I have wondered whether the regular B1 could benefit from tweaked crossovers or whether that is constrained by the driver compliment. Earlier posts indicate that that there might be little to gain from this. Anyway, nice to see Vivid in the press. |

Should receive a loaner pair just after the Soundstage guys.
The new B1 is equipped with a new midrange-bass driver, the one used in the Giya line.
