Default Platter Mats recommendation

I just purchased a VPI Avenger turntable and was wondering if there are any recommendations on platter mats and how they affect the sound or vibrations

You'll probably get all sorts of answers on this, I've always gone naked on my VPIs. Straight onto the platter.

I got this on on the cheap. A demo special. I really like it and it has improved the sound that comes out of my Technics SL-1210 Mk5

Whether it would help your table I cannot say.

Was quite happy with the 'Ringmat' on my VPI. Would use again if it would work with my current TT. http://www.ringmat.com/products/ringmat.htm
Fremer recently reviewed a mat he rated very highly. However, $395+ for a mat seems a bit steep.

FWIW Glenn, almost everything that Mikey reviews seems to me to be a bit steep. The trials and tribulations of being a poor SOB like myself I suppose.

He seems to be the reviewer that get's the "over the top" gear assignments (maybe he asks for them). However, I am pleased with the $800 phono-preamp he recommended.
