what should replace my mht-200

I was waiting for that lol. this is why this is great. for one, I want my friends thoughts on this, you know my friends who I talk to all the time on the mcintosh forum. It feels good to be free, to have a chance to get some thoughts from people in the area that you always talk, even though its not all mcintosh. So big thanks to Ivan.

And yes you do have a great sence of humor. So Ivan, what are your thoughts. You know more about these systems then most of us, and I would love to hear what you think I should move to. along with all of you.

now remember the rest of my system is mcintosh and will be staying that way, I just after a few thigns and the main reason, after hearing how this b&k really has out played my mht, want to try somthing new. hey both units have blue lights, so that should count lol

Oh also, I should of said that The reason I am also moving away from mcintosh with this unit, is because I want a one piece, I though long on this, of going seps to match the rest of my gear. but due to the lack of space, and also I would have to find a 3chnl amp, (yes mcintosh has one, but its crazy money) its also more interconnects again, and all that. so a one piece unit that has multi zones that I can run through out other rooms in the house won over. So I look forward to your thoughts

So this is not for pre/pro only but he wants a receiver?

Marantz SR8002 is very nice for an all-in-one box.
Denon cube (AVR5308ci has best video processing anywhere right now) or Pioneer cube (don't remember model # but its retail $6-7k) are probably the best all-in-one-box solution you can get currently.

If you want pre/pro and a multichannel amp (2-boxes), the new Anthem Statement D2v/+ (whatever its called now) just came out or is just about to hit dealers. Very impressive pre/pro, wonderful room correction, and bulletproof build quality. Their statment P5 amp is one helluva monster too (requires 2x15a power cords to power properly). Has been consistently rated WAY up there with the bigger, more expensive big-boy toys. The P5 is supposed to equal the quality of the MC205.

I dont want the pre pro due to space, The anthems really are not that nice sounding, and spec for spec I dont see it better then the new arcam, since it has the g amps, . The problem with the marantz and denon, is the dont do vid as well as Arcam. Arcam has always been formost top in vid, plus if you look at the new 600 from arcam, And I did listen to it, it is really nice. Room correct if your system is set up right ( proper placement of speakers and all you dont need it. I put anthem with lexicon, they just dont sound good. Now also B&k has always gave you great products for good price,plus usa built. but they lack in the vid area until now. I really think the new Arcam will put alot of others on notice.

I would definitely stay with McIntosh. Wait for the MX150 or the AP100(?).

If you must look at another brand, check out the Cary Audio's Cinema 11a. (I hear it still has a few firmware issues, but when they get resolved it will be a nice alternative.)

the 150 does not work for me. I want a all in one, plus after looking at the stats, the arcam, and even the b&k hold up to it at half the price. I demo the cary, I dont like the sound. not for me.
