Default Mcintosh Solid State Amplifier Production Life

How long does Mcintosh keep an amp. in production usually before it comes through with an update ? The MC402, 252 and501's are close to 5 years old. Anyone venture to guess what these 3 amps. might be upgraded to ? The MA7000 is supposed to have a upgraded version of the MC252 amp. inside it.

Supposedly a "better circuit layout for improved sound quality along with ThermalTrak technology for lower distortion and more efficient operation"

I like the look of the big beefy handles better than the plain metal strips on the sides of the MC252, 402 and 501's. I guess instead of handles you have 3 d glass.

Do the handles make the amps sound better? Talk about jewelry...

Some of the older amps ran for 9 years in production, newer models seem to be running 3 to 5 years. If it's a good seller they keep it around longer.
