Default Reversing Age of Your Music Server

I have a 2011 Macmini running Roon , that’s all I was using it for but I noticed the hard drive taking a long time to boot up . I had already upgraded the ram to 16 gigs in the past. I replaced the internal hard drive with a SSD and now boot up time is quick and the whole computer is running fast , like instantaneously when I tested a few apps and web browsing. Roon has zero lags . Overall a worthy upgrade , for $90 including tax and shipping the computer for what I use it for is better than new .

1KW-

It's amazing what the installation of an SSD can do to an older Mac; especially using it for a specific purpose as you are.

I take it you are running the ROON Core on your Mac. Are you also storing your ripped/purchased files on the same SSD or an external HD/server?

John

I have some music on the SSD around 1974 albums but I use mostly Tidal with Roon . Maybe one day I will get around to burning more CD’s

So the SSD replacement is quiet, fast and has successfully rejuvenated my macmini music server . I also have it hooked up to a 85 inch Sony tv with a wireless keyboard. Works great, it definitely doesn’t owe me anything. I’m just pleasantly surprised how well it’s working .
