Default You'll never be as strong as Canadians!

To all my fellow AA members living in the Sunshine States or in the Carolina's, Cali or other sun drenched destinations, dont come to Canada.
Don't come north. You wont be able to handle it.

Here in Canada, we get Thunder Snow. Actually, I dont think Thunder Snow is the right name...more accurate to call it Thunder Cement. Comes straight down from clouds. Last night, Ontario got his with almost 2 feet of the wettest, stickiest, heaviest and hardest to shovel or blow snow I've ever experienced.

But Im a Canadian, so i went out there and did what every mans supposed to do.
I fired up the Honda Snowblower and went to town.
Did i have to stop twice to go in the house and take a nap because i was exhausted and needed to recharge?
Yes, but so what!
Is this how i was hoping to spend my Saturday? Hell no.
Is my family keeping their distance from me while i resemble a Silverback Gorilla?
Absolutely.

Am i envious of all AA members living in places where snowfall is not a concern? Bet your ass i am!
Well, time to be a good Canadian neighbors and help them with their driveways and walkways.
Cheers!

It's raining again here in NorCal, and we've had some of the highest levels of snowfall in the Sierras we've had in 4 decades. Which is really good for our water levels. Now, if we can recover ground-water levels, we might be in better position with respect to the drought.

I totally understand that Northern Life and all of it's peculiarities. Don't miss it at all.

However, I find that I have moved to an area where everything wants to poke you, stab you, bite you or kill you. Sonoran Desert life has it's own challenges that require strength, thorn avoidance and situational awareness at a totally different level.

Oh...Mark...Keep the "Thunder Snow" up there, will ya?

Ditto. I was born in Minnesota. Thankfully, my father had a chance to move the family from a suburb of Minneapolis to the San Francico Bay area when I was just shy of 15. He was born in Duluth (the one at the tip of Lake Superior) ;-)
My memory of it is that he was tired of the snow.
Before all that, he'd had a 4 year taste of CA by way of the Navy. He was in & out before The War and, of course, was drafted, but his employer didn't want to lose him & got him a deferment. I believe that was Northwest Orient Airlines. He was a supevisor in maintenance there and higher up at 3 airlines in CA, but he started out as a mechanic at, I believe, Northwest so that must be where he changed out a generator for a famous pilot when he flew in. So I'm 1 degree of seperation from General Jimmy Doolitle and y'all are now 2.
