Good to finally see the kitchen finished, with the exception of a missing cabinet door. The counter tops really put pizazz into the kitchen and the bar area.

The basement sure has turned into a real palace, and looks stunning. If we could just have some music. I guess you could leave the two channel room door open.

Looks amazing Ivan. I had the Bryston 9B ST before my Sim and I'm curious to know specifically your impressions on the Bryston/Sonus Faber pairing.

Ivan, I hope you have patience. Those Amati's sure take forever to break in. I have had moine for almost 3 month working a few hours every day and the sound is still changing for the better. Might be the teflon caps in the crossover since the drivers are surely broken in by now.

Ivan, could you expand on the thought process as it pertains to locating gear and speakers in different rooms? Provide pictures if convenient.

Bill.... This is a great question, which I'll attempt to answer. It takes a good eye, and lots of experience.

Long before my basement was finished I had put in many hours deciding exactly what I wanted out of it. Every room was planned down to the smallest detail. The real problem is planning for the unknown, but that's another thread.

The game room was designed by me to be the largest open area in the basement. I wanted a fireplace, flatscreen TV, table games, and a music system. I deliberately wanted the sound system to be as invisible as possible.

There is an electrical room behind the game room (purpose built) which I decided would be perfect for all the gear. Yet, it would be easy to enter and show the system if desired. Control is via RF remote, so it was simply a matter of speaker placement, and pre-running in of all the cables.

I decided early on that I wanted the speakers to flank the fireplace, this works well for both aesthetics, and acoustics.

Funny thought; last night when I was putting the bases on the Amati's I looked around at the completed basement and thought, how did I know this would turn out looking so nice. Then I walked over to take another look at the Theater, and 2-channel room. I gazed at it, as if for the first time and thought; now this is amazing.

So Bill, in getting back to the original question; all my experience plays a huge roll in doing things right the first time. Like a painter knowing where to put his brush strokes.
