Indeed so, words of wisdom Tony.

We're on the same sheet of music here. No worries.

tony-w.......+1 on what Bob said. I hate war. It is senseless on so many levels, and always devastating to those directly involved with the conflicts. Not serving in a war is no disgrace, nor is not serving in the Armed Forces.

Those Americans that choose to serve in our Armed Forces deserve our greatest respect. No one should be so naive as to believe that without our great Armed Forces we would continue to be able to live life with the freedoms we take for granted every single day. Freedom is not free. God bless our service men and women.

Worth looking at.

Recently, a gentleman from Seattle created a gesture which could
be used to express your thanks and has started a movement to get
the word out..

Please everybody take just a moment to watch..... The Gratitude Salute
...and then forward it to your friends!

THEN START USING THE SIGN.

YouTube - the gratitude campaign (full length)

Mike.......Thanks for posting the link to the Gratitude Campaign. It is a wonderful gesture that speaks volumes to our service men and women. They are worth our recognition, and deserve our gratitude.

I won't attack those folks who left our country for Canada during that war. I just don't hold them in high regard. Had they stayed here and protested, burned their draft cards and fought for what they believed in and suffered the consequences of their actions, I could have some respect for them.

I believe in gun control. But, the Constitution says otherwise.

Burning the flag offends me but the Supreme Court has allowed it as a First Amendment right.

Jane Fonda doing her VC impersonation is extremely distasteful to me but her right to do what she did was paid for by all the men and women who died securing that right.

I spent 20 years in the Navy defending the Constitution both in peace and war. I've bled for my country. Missed god knows how many birthdays, graduations and anniversaries. Not looking for anything by saying that. I know that I defended everybody's right to say and do what the Constitution allows whether I agree with it or not.

As shaky as the government seems to be at this time, this is still the finest place to live on earth, bar none.

I think you make very good points and I agree with you.

It seems like many people forget what it was like back in the late '60's and early '70's. Most of us who were drafted didn't want to go, but most of us did. I have no issue with the ones who went to Canada, they were no less of men than the ones who used their connections to avoid service.

I believe that date is off by about 30 years.
