I like my tube amp the way it looks, never like the way those attachments looked on amps. However I did add bronze flat bar weights to the chassis to improve the sound (don't block the vent holes).

Maybe I'll post some pictures later.

Used one on a Brimar E81CC/33A/101X in my Sonic Frontiers SFL1 Pre-Amp.
Seemed to reduce hiss & smooth out the top end.

I think they are worth experimenting with.

Ill try them on my Sonic Frontiers Power 1 amp next.

Personally I am a huge fan of all of Herbies products and their customer service is simply outstanding

Herbie's Tube Dampers

They also have some of the best value vs. performance resonance control products available.

I forgot to mention that I use Herbies on my Power 1 (KT88s) In fact- they resulted in much bigger improvement- lowered the noise floor considerably.

I cant use Herbies in my driver tubes asthey are recessed into the top plate- so only EAT Tube Dampers will fit (even then the top of the tubes are below the top of the damper).

Both companies products produced improvements- I highly recommend both.

I just installed Herbies onto to my tele's!! Well.... the noise albeit wasn't that much in the first place. GONE, KAPUT, ON the MILK CARTON!!! I had to turn the volume up to about 50 just to hear hiss. I stopped at 72 still NOTHING!! I cue up a song..... %@#* this is NICE! Deeper bass wider stage present! While installing thinking this will color the music! Oops... wrong again no coloring at all. Best $60.00 mod since adding the tele's.

Awesome Ken........

I have always been very impressed with the Herbies products and they seem to consistently improve all products I have used them with.

Was thinking about trying them on my Deizel Herbert guitar amp EL34's but the head sits on top of the 4X12 half stack and for high gain applications they are redundant. If I was into a super clean sound I would try them for sure but I like a little dirt in the clean channel anyway. Thanks for the post though

Another sophisticated tube damper is Tubesox from Ensemble audio. It uses Kevlar and copper thread for optimal resonance damping and heat dissipation.
