your ears...your room acoustics.
anyways to the Op's question (s).... While I don't have Summit X's I do listen through M/L Spire's which are no different to power than their sibbling hybrid. My amplification is a matter of choice....a pair of Rogue M-180 monoblocks or my Plinius SA-102. Most of my summertime listening is through the Plinius (less heat !) , with that being said knowing how well my M-180's drive and sound mated with my Logans I have no doubt your ARC 150's would be superb match as well. One more thought....... while the Summit X's are great speakers if it were me and your room demensions allowed I'd buy the Montis and pair them up with a killer sub....or two ! |

The speakers are 4 ft from the back wall and about 7 ft apart inside edge to inside edge. Room is symmetrical around speakers. Last edited by cma29; 07-04-2013 at 06:55 PM. |

I'm using the Ref 150 to drive M-L Montis, and love the sound. I'm very addicted to the valve + electrostatic sound, and no doubt have learned to 'hear' the music through that particular prism. But I find it a very emotionally satisfying prism to listen through.
